Floor screed, three types:-
- Bonded Screed
Perfect for thinner applications. This is fully bonded to the concrete base.
- Unbonded Screed
This is laid on a polythene sheet or water resistant membrane which separates the screed from the concrete base.

If you are installing underfloor heating this is the screed for you.

The key difference between floor screed and concrete is concrete is for you base and strength. If you are looking a finer finish than you will get with concrete then floor screed is the answer. Floors creed is sand and cement with no aggregates and is laid over concrete floors indoors. You would not use screed for a stable floor but you would almost certainly for a new extension in your home.
